MA Research Conference Delivers New Research Findings

Masters students from Communication and Media ended the semester by presenting research to their peers at the MA Research Conference in May. As an assessed component to the Critical Issues in Media and Communication module, the day was an opportunity for groups to deliver the findings of the research projects they had designed and carried out during the semester, offering insightful observations and original claims on a diverse range of timely issues in media and communication, and allowing for stimulating discussion and questions. Jairo Lugo-Ocando joins School of Media and Communication

We are pleased to announce that Jairo Lugo-Ocando has joined the School of Media and Communication as Associate Professor in Journalism Studies. Jairo brings with him a wealth of experience. Before becoming an academic, he worked as a journalist, correspondent and news editor for several news media in Latin America and the United States. He is also a researcher of media, poverty and development, with a particular interest in the relationship between journalism, development, poverty and social exclusion. In this area he looks at how journalists articulate narratives and discourses regarding social exclusion and vulnerable communities. Read More »
